Leamington climate controls maker Labbate placed into receivership
Under the radar: a long standing Leamington manufacturer in Windsor Essex, one of C&Co. target markets, has been placed into receivership, with a receiver now assessing viability.
GlassRatner was appointed receiver on Oct 21, 2026 by the Manitoba Court of King's Bench over Labbate Climate Controls Systems and eight related entities, including Titanium Mechanical and Pols Real Estate Holdings. The receiver notice is dated Nov 2.
Labbate is a greenhouse and agricultural climate controls manufacturer founded in 1986, based at 408 Mersea Road 3 in Leamington. Management reported net book value of about $500K, made up of $434K in property, plant and equipment and $66K in cash. Those figures are unaudited and unverified, per the report cited in the brief.
The receiver is to assess viability and stabilize operations.
For investors and business buyers in Windsor Essex, this is a watch item, not a priced opportunity yet. A 1986 founded supplier to the greenhouse sector in receivership may lead to an asset sale, a going concern sale, or a wind down, and the unaudited book values in the notice should not be treated as market value. Track receiver updates before assuming any buying opportunity exists.
