HVAC and plumbing roll ups add three more deals in Florida, Texas and Virginia

The HVAC, plumbing and electrical roll up pace continued Nov 2 to 3, with three separate platform acquisitions announced in Florida, Texas and Virginia, all in C&Co. business acquisition verticals.

 

Kelso Industries acquired Randall Mechanical and Randall Construction in Florida, announced Nov 3. Randall is a 400 person MEP and fire protection contractor founded in 1986, terms were undisclosed, and Kelso is now past $1B in revenue after 31 deals.

 

Southern Home Services, backed by Gryphon, closed its acquisition of Vanderford Air and Plumbing in League City, Texas on Nov 2, its second Houston location, terms undisclosed. Leap Partners acquired 360 Plumbing Service in Richmond, Virginia, announced Nov 3, its 36th HVAC, plumbing and electrical acquisition. The business is family run, and the founder stays on.

 

For business buyers and sellers, three platforms buying in three states in two days confirms competition for quality trades businesses remains active. Founder retention, as in the Leap Partners deal, and multi location expansion, as in the Southern Home Services deal, are recurring structures. Owners should expect platform buyers to move quickly, and buyers should underwrite technician retention and founder transition as carefully as earnings.
