Permira takes majority stake in Flint Group at a valuation above $1.5B

Private equity demand for residential services platforms was priced again this week, in one of the largest home services deals of the year.

Reuters reported Nov 5 that Permira is taking a majority stake in Flint Group at a valuation above $1.5B. The stake comes from General Atlantic, which has been in since 2023. Closing is expected by the end of 2026.

Flint Group is headquartered in Kansas City and now runs 20 brands in 15 states, up from 7 brands in 5 states in 2023. That growth in three years is the platform build the valuation is paying for.

Context from Dealroom, cited in the brief: sponsors accounted for 60.5% of residential services M&A through late July 2026.

For business owners in the trades and home services, a valuation above $1.5B for a multi brand platform confirms where the premium sits. Scale, brand count, and state coverage are what sponsors pay up for, and single location operators should read this as the exit case for building or joining a platform rather than selling early at a single unit multiple.
